Bernt Arne Ødegaard is a Professor at the University of Stavanger. He has a PhD of finance from Carnegie Mellon University (1992). His thesis paper on fixed income securities was published in the Journal of Finance (1997). His current research interests include empirical asset pricing, market microstructure and corporate governance. He has previously taught at the Unversities of Illinois (Chicago) and British Columbia (Vancouver), and at the Norwegian School of Management BI (Oslo). He holds a part time position in the Norwegian Central Bank's research department. He was director of the PhD program in Financial Economics at the Norwegian School of Management BI for eight years. He has been used as an expert witness in court cases. His research is publised in journals like the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Markets, Finance Research Letters and the Journal of Banking and Finance. He has, with Professor Peter Bossaerts at Caltech, written a textbook: Lectures on Corporate Finance.
